Built on the belief that ageing well begins at home.
Gentleoak was founded to fill a genuine gap โ skilled, dependable home care that treats each person with the dignity and attention they deserve.
Back to HomeA Taipei-based home care service with a quiet dedication to the people we support
Gentleoak was established in Neihu District by a small group of care professionals who recognised that many older adults in Taiwan were caught between two difficult options: moving into a residential facility before they were ready, or attempting to manage daily life without adequate support.
We started with a straightforward idea โ that high-quality, professional care could be brought into the home, adapted to each person's habits and preferences, and delivered in a way that upholds their sense of self. Over time, this has grown into three interconnected services that cover everything from short wellness visits to full live-in arrangements.
Our work is guided by ongoing conversations with clients and their families. We believe that families know their loved one best, and that the most effective care is always collaborative. Each arrangement we set up is the result of listening carefully and matching the right aide to the right person.
"To make it possible for elderly individuals in Taiwan to remain in the homes they love, supported by aides who genuinely care."
Our Values
- Dignity first. Every interaction is shaped by respect for the person's autonomy and preferences.
- Honest communication. We keep families informed and never overstate what our services can do.
- Steady presence. Reliability matters enormously in care. Consistency is something we work hard to maintain.
- Careful matching. A good aide-client relationship makes every aspect of care better for everyone involved.

How we uphold quality across every engagement
Rigorous Caregiver Screening
All aides complete identity verification, background checks with the National Police Agency, reference interviews with previous employers, and a skills assessment before joining.
Individual Care Planning
Every new engagement begins with a written care plan developed with the family. It documents the senior's preferences, routines, health notes, and daily care priorities.
Regular Care Reviews
Formal reviews are carried out at thirty days, ninety days, and every three months thereafter, with adjustments made in response to changing needs or family feedback.
Privacy & Data Protection
All personal and health information is handled in accordance with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act. Access is strictly limited to those directly involved in the care arrangement.
Professional Liability Insurance
All active care placements are covered by professional liability insurance. Families can request a summary of coverage details before care begins.
Ongoing Aide Training
Active caregivers participate in quarterly training sessions covering mobility assistance techniques, dementia awareness, and respectful communication with older adults.
In-home elderly support in Taipei's changing landscape
Taiwan has one of the most rapidly ageing populations in Asia. As life expectancy extends and family structures evolve, many households across Taipei find themselves navigating an unfamiliar situation โ a parent or grandparent who needs more support than family members can realistically provide alone, but who is not yet at the stage requiring residential care.
Gentleoak works specifically within this space. Our service model is built around the reality that most older adults prefer to remain at home, surrounded by their belongings, routines, and community connections. With the right professional support, this is achievable for longer than many families initially expect.
Based in Neihu District, our team is familiar with the particular dynamics of Taipei's ageing community. We understand the local healthcare landscape, have established working relationships with health providers across the city, and can navigate the practical aspects of coordinating care in dense urban environments.
Families who work with Gentleoak consistently note the value of having a single, knowledgeable point of contact โ someone who understands their situation, can respond promptly, and makes adjustments without requiring lengthy explanations each time circumstances change.
